Arthur Berry, large original mixed media drawing on card titled "Caryatid" 1982 by Arthur Berry.

Caryatid is a female carved sculpture which is used as a stone support for a building. It is very possible that Berry had in his mind that this figure is the same representation used for the support of the clock towner on great Victorian Town Hall building which is in Burslem Town Centre.

This painting was originally thought to be called Cariad, but after closer inspection of the name it is now recognised to be Caryatid.
