Oil on canvas, stretched. All in original condition with original artist decorated frame.

Painting Size: 61cm x 51cm / 24" x 20" (81.5cm x 70cm / 32" x 27.5" framed)

Framed in original Gordon Forsyth selected hand painted frame with plaster and wood with hand painted aged cream and antique gold bevels. All in original condition.

Signed and named to the front.

Complete with address and exhibition labels to reverse in Gordon Forsyth's handwriting.

London based James Bourlet & Sons part of the label attached to the frame.

This painting is likely to have been painted at his address and studio at 8 King Street, Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire while Gordon Mitchell Forsyth was head of Art for Stoke-on-Trent, based at Burslem School of Art.

Gordon Forsyth is also famously known for his works with Pilkingtons and Lancastrianware. His lustre hand painted pieces are highly collected and very sought after. He was an instrumental figure in bringing art education and industry together in the Potteries including through the war years.
