George Mallalieu (1941 - 2004)
George Mallalieu was born in Oldham, Lancashire and attended The Kings School, Macclesfield before beginning his studies at Stoke College of Art in 1958. He went on to gain a teaching qualification at Manchester College of Art in 1961.
After a year of fine art lecturing at Great Yarmouth College of Art he returned to Stoke to teach Aesthetics.
His work draws on Picasso , Goya and Dix. His obituary was published in the Guardian in 2004.
He died in 2004 after a fire in 2000 which sadly eradicated much of his work although work does still exist in private collections.
