Title A Hard Drinking Man
This honest oil painting depicts a man dishevelled and worn by the ravages of alcohol. It perhaps shows what Arthur would describe as "a derelict." reminiscent of the street drinkers who would sleep by the kilns at night, and use alcohol to keep warm.
Painted circa 1970.
Size: 12" x 23.75" / 31cm x 60cm ( Framed 17.75" x 29" / 45cm x 75cm)
Framed in heavy dark ornate oak moulding with aged look and linen slip.
Provenance and Exhibitions:
In private collection. The painting is originally from a collection of Arthur Berry paintings acquired direct from the studio of Arthur Berry in the 1980's.
