Kevin Salt has written a fine and learned history of the Ancient Parish of Dilhorne compiled through a long search of the Archives and Records. To this he has added, with the help of others, nearly 90 photos and other ephemera.

Kevin Salt spent his childhood in the neighbouring community of Blythe Bridge within the ancient parish of Dilhorne. He studied local history at Keele University and obtained a Certificate of Education and a Masters Degree in the subject. He also has a diploma in Archives and Records Management from Liverpool University. He has worked at the Wedgwood Museum, Staffordshire County Record Office and Shugborough Hall.
