Greaves & Thomas Vintage Midcentury Egg Chair by Lost and Found Projects

GREAVES & THOMAS VINTAGE MID-CENTURY SWIVEL EGG CHAIR. Iconic 1960s swivel egg chair on original teak wood base. Covers are the original turquoise stretch zip back fitted boucle covers and purchase includes an additional stretch cover in dark khaki green. Greaves & Thomas were a London based furniture maker based in premises in Clapton, in the London Borough of Hackney from 1911 till 1965. They were based at the now defunct Amherst works on the Northwold Road and were incorporated into Schreiber furniture in 1967. The furniture from the 1960s mirrored the style of modernist Danish designers, using clean geometries, teak timber, tapered furniture legs and smooth fabrics. Greaves & Thomas invented the Put-U-Up settee-bed, much sought after today. The chair has had very limited use in its lifetime and as such in very good original condition. The teak base has been refurbished and brought back to its full original condition and the textile cover has been cleaned. This could be reupholstered by the buyer if preferred. We can offer this service at additional costs, please message to discuss. Stunning mid-century design investment piece suitable for contemporary living.
