One of Lowry's Most Significant Works
Station Approach holds a special place in Lowry's body of work. Painted in 1962, it captures the scene outside the London and North Western Railway Exchange Station in Manchester — a city Lowry knew intimately, and whose streets and crowds he spent a lifetime observing. The original painting sold at Sotheby's in 2014 for £2.3 million, having been tipped to reach £3 million, confirming its status as one of the most sought-after works in British art.
This limited edition print, published in 1972 in an edition of 850, brings that same composition within reach of the serious collector.
Signed and Authenticated
The print is signed in pencil by L.S. Lowry on the lower right. The Fine Art Guild stamp appears to the lower left. Both signature and stamp have been left visible above the mount — a deliberate and elegant presentation choice that preserves the full authentication of the work.
Beautifully Presented
Presented in a double-mounted frame, ready to hang. A landmark piece for any collection of 20th-century British art.
