This drawing on paper depicts the skyline of the Potteries, Berry may have been thinking back to the sky when the kilns would have been blasting out. He brings the picture up to its time with the outline of what may be a modern concrete fence or perhaps a line of garages or houses in the foreground which gives a feeling of containment.
