This painting would have been created when Gordon Forsyth was principal at Burslem School of Art, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
It is also interesting that Gordon Forsyth's daughter Moira Forsyth, a glass and ceramic artist was commissioned to make one of the stained glass windows at Norwich Cathedral, this commission was completed in 1963. It shows a long standing connection to Norwich and Norfolk for the Forsyth family.
The building is still in the town centre of Norwich, Norfolk as is the market and the public house overlooking.
