Alex Shimwell
British studio potter Alex Shimwell lived in Burslem in the 2000s as part of an artist community that lived and worked in Queen Street alongside painter Rob Pointon.
He now hand throws ad makes his pottery in his birth county at his pottery studio in Matlock, Derbyshire.
He specialises in porcelain and stoneware pots with different textures of clay, surface and decoration. Taught by master potter Kevin Millward who is co director of Clay College, based at Middleport Pottery. He is collected and exhibits across the UK.
